The Thing (2011)
Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) joins a Norwegian scientific team in Antarctica that has discovered an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, and an organism that seems to have died in the crash. When an experiment frees the alien, a shape-shifting creature with the ability to turn itself into a perfect replica of any living being, Kate must join the crew's pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. Paranoia soon spreads like an epidemic as they're infected, one by one, and a thrilling race for survival begins...
The Thing is a prelude to John Carpenter's classic 1982 film.

Worth!
I've watched these movies for sure 100x, (especially the original part :)) and now I'm happy because I finally have a physical release on Blu ray discs. Absolutely fantastic, both discs come in one package, at a very affordable price. Must have, for all Sci fi / Horror fans. Thanks Zavvi!!!

A must-see horror movie!
As a huge fan of the original "The Thing" movie, I just had to have this film in my library. One of the best horror movies I have ever seen and easily the same top shelf as other icons of horror cinematography, like "Alien". The remake was not something that I liked as much as the original movie, but it was still okay and I enjoyed watching something else, that tried to be a tribute to the 1982 "The Thing". When it comes to the physical aspect of the collection, the bluray box is of a simple and clear design. Nothing fancy and nothing wrong about it. I recommend!

I found the two films FIST CLASS A-1 films the first one [ With KURT RUSSEL] GREAT, the prequil GOOD but almost a carbon copy of the first IN General both great

Great Double Value!
The Thing (2011) is the underrated prequel to Carpenter's masterpiece. It's intense, often horrifying, well done in every way. The blu-ray transfer is as good as it gets. As for The Thing (1982), this is a great film in its category of horror/sci-fi, with terrific performances, frightening atmosphere, and special effects that set a standard for their time and a generation afterward. Extras on both discs go beyond expectations, especially for the 1982 film. This 2 disc set is a great value, well worth a place in any fan's collection. My copy from zavvi.com arrived before the announced date, a pleasant surprise!

Great release, shame about the artwork.
I was very happy with this release, getting both movies in one pack was very handy and the price was fantastic, even shipped to Australia. Quality transfer of both films was very high, and and there was a good amount of special features to be enjoyed for both films, particularly the original. The only let down was the artwork, very disappointing to see a plain black cover. So much fantastic imagery from either of the films that could have been used, just going with a plain cover was a massive let down. I would have definitely given this one 5 stars with some decent cover art.

The Thing Box Set
Great box set. Great Price. Great movies. Worst packaging ever, guys. Please, please, PLEASE go back to cardboard box packaging instead of cheap bubble wrap envelopes. I'll pay more. Honest. And if you do, the corners of my box sets will thank you forever...
