High Plains Drifter:
Clint Eastwood’s second film as a director (following the highly successful Play Misty For Me), High Plains Drifter returns the actor to his familiar scene of the Old West and his familiar role of ‘The Man With No Name’. Eastwood portrays a mysterious stranger who emerges out of the heat waves of the desert and rides into the guilt-ridden town of Lago. Trouble is coming to town, and The Stranger is going to be at the centre of it.
Coogans Bluff:
This Eastern-Western, set in sixties New York, tells of an Arizona sheriff who accompanies his extradited prisoner and loses him in the concrete canyons of Manhattan. Eastwood’s enigmatic dangerous westerner must find him, meeting pimps, crooks, hippies and cops along the way.
Joe Kid:
Waking up in the local jail after a night of hard drinking, gunslinger Joe Kidd (Eastwood) is not at his best as he comes before the judge to be reprimanded. But he soon finds himself caught in the middle of a dispute between some land workers and land barons and must decide which of them has right on their side. Although the answer is far from clear, his choice will be instrumental in deciding the outcome.
Play Misty For Me:
A laid-back jazz DJ (Eastwood), with a taste for goodlooking cars and women, enjoys what he thinks is a onenight stand with an attractive brunette (Jessica Walter) who admits she’s one of his biggest fans. But the one night becomes a recurring nightmare as she pursues him relentlessly, turning his carefree existence into a living hell that threatens to destroy everything that matters to him.
