SGU

SGU this has got to be the best of the stargate shows the story is very good and has good actors i must say this season is a slow start but gets better in season 2 ive seen half of it and its unreal syfy have not renewed it for a season 3 but its in talks about a flim. STORY - It follows the adventures of a present-day, multinational exploration team unable to return to Earth after an evacuation to the Ancient spaceship Destiny, which is traveling in a distant corner of the universe on a path. The Ancients launched several automated ships prior to Destiny, each with the purpose of constructing and seeding Stargates throughout the numerous galaxies they crossed, with Destiny itself following in their path to explore those planets and piece together fragments of a complex message embedded in the fabric of the universe itself.

A promising start

A desperate bid by a group of scientists, military and civilian personnel to unlock the secrets of an "Alien" portal goes horribly wrong when their base is attacked and they are forced to flee through the portal unprepared. The survivors find themselves trapped on a derelict starship, called Destiny, with no way home, and having to deal with shortages of food, water, and air reserves, and worse being pulled in different directions by people with different agendas. It’s an exciting start to a new series which is very different to the Stargate and Stargate Atlantis series which preceded it, with more grit to the stories and characters. The series grows more interesting with each episode as we gradually learn about each of the main characters strengths and flaws as well as picking up clues about Destiny's past and future journey. I watched the first series on TV, and I am looking forward to the series again on DVD along with the new series.
