torchwood miracle day

Ive been waiting to see Torchwood: Miracle Day since last year when I accidentally erased it from my recorded stuff at home! The Torchwood gang come together with 2 American associates to try and find out why nobody in the whole world is dying. This brings a lot of unforseen problems, not least a shortage of food, water and medicines. It's action packed, fast paced and a story to get your teeth into. Not to be missed.

Zavvi delivers to Finland in under a week, free. Great! The series is excellent, maybe not as perfect as Children of Earth, but almost!

Torchwood: Miracle Day

Okay, having watched Miracle Day on TV last year, I finally got around to adding it to my DVD collection (having got the other Torchwood packs). I have now re-watched it on DVD and found it a little more enjoyable, however, there are faults... The move to partnering with a US TV network has killed something off, almost the "essence" of the program. It looks grander and slicker, but the program just seems to run a little out of steam. I, along with the majority of Torchwood fans, preferred the structure of series 1 and 2 - single and multi-episode arcs. Obviously there had to be a trade off between having a US made series or nothing at all. It's not all bad, the camera work and acting is good, with some good sub-plots (going back into Jack's history). Bill Pulman steals the show as the evil Oswald Danes and the plot builds to a bloody climax. If you can get past the "americanisation" of Torchwood, the program is not that bad - just really hope that the US hadn't of killed it off... after all, it's ours and made by BBC Wales! All in all, good, but not a patch on the previous Torchwood.
