Every E3 is full of surprises, and this year has been no exception. From finally getting to see what Nintendo’s new hardware is going to look like, to learning about that Luigi’s Mansion sequel, to seeing how slick Gearbox’s new Aliens game looks when it’s running…. any of those could classify as the biggest surprise of E3 2011 so far. But they all pale in comparison next to what Ubisoft have done to the solemn, serious Brothers in Arms franchise.
Although hardcore fans of the series have already kicked up a bit of a stink online, Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 is looking like an absolute riot to us. It may look more like Bulletstorm than a Brothers In Arms game, but it has a brilliantly ribald sense of humour and a four player co-op mode that looks about as entertaining as a four player co-op game should do in this day and age. And it’s actually funny. Keep an eye on the zavvi blog this week for a full preview.
Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 is currently due for release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC in 2012.
