Despite the fact that it allegedly began its development in the immediate aftermath of Oblivion‘s release in 2006, the next chapter in the epic Elder Scrolls saga has been shrouded in complete secrecy ever since. When the first official teaser trailer was revealed before Christmas last year, fans rejoiced; but some of them were infuriated by the lack of concrete details featured in it. FMV teaser trailers that do little more than announce the existence of a game are nothing new, but it’s a testament to the passion of Elder Scrolls fans that a few of them were inspired to vent their frustrations creatively. You can also view the brand new trailer (first unveiled late last week) at the bottom of this page. It features actual gameplay footage for the first time, and shows off the plot’s apparent infatuation with dragons, which has understandably gotten the fanbase rabidly excited to say the least. When this trailer first went live on the official Elder Scrolls website, it crashed almost instantly; earning as many as 2000 hits per second at one point.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is due for release on 11th November 2011 on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
