American network FX have released a trailer for their upcoming TV series, Fargo, based on the classic Coen brothers’ movie.
The series has adapted the film into ten parts, with Martin Freeman (The Office, Sherlock, The Hobbit) playing the main character – a browbeaten insurance salesman called Lester Nygaard – as he descends into malice and violence under the influence of Lorne Malvo – played by Billy Bob Thronton (Sling Blade, Armageddon, A Simple Plan).

Whilst the TV series looks to have transferred many aspects of the original movie , the new story, according to Total Film, is set to go in its own direction, and will act as a companion piece instead of a direct adaptation. The series will also star well known actors like Bob Odenkirk, Adam Goldberg, Colin Hanks and Oliver Platt.
Fargo will air in the US on the 15th of April, hitting the UK on Channel 4 shortly afterwards.
