Daisy Coburn is a busy girl. At only fifteen she’s managed to write, produce and release a fabulous pop song , be one of the most sought-after new music acts, remain at school to do her GCSE’s and more incredibly seems to have listened to more music than any single person has ever managed to do before her.
Have a look at her MySpace page: www.myspace.com/daisydaresyoumusic and you’ll see that Daisy lists two hundred and eighty three influences (correct at the time of going to press!) which is a lot of listening by anyones books.
‘Daisy Dares You’ is the eponymous track from Daisy Dares You and is an exuberant, enjoyable piece of pop music, it’s uplifting jangly pop at it’s best and if you’re looking for influences we think that you only have to listen to the estuary accent to be reminded of Lily Allen and Kate Nash.
We think that Daisy Dares You could be one to watch in 2010 and whilst there’s always the chance that someone so young won’t last the pace the images of Daisy Coburn playing the guitar in her video, the writing credits and of course those eclectic inspirational artists (from Curt Cobain to Kelis via Fleetwood Mac) suggests that Daisy and the band may just be here for the long run.
