Sony has today announced that it has sold six million PS4 consoles as of March 2nd – which puts Sony way ahead of any targets and forecasts that it had for the fiscal year.

Sony had apparently planned to sell around 5 million units by the end of March after having released the now successful console on the 29th of November for the US, Western Europe and Latin America – and then slowly across other Asian territories since that point. Indeed, it has only just gone on sale in Japan, being released on the 22nd of February.
