Sony’s Gamescom appearance took place yesterday and they opened their conference with some really big news… They have now sold over 10 Million PS4 consoles worldwide! With plenty of exciting revelations up their sleeves, check out our highlights below!
Far Cry 4
The detailed landscape of Kyrat was showcased by a new Far Cry 4 video, which, if you’ve missed it, I’d definitely recommend watching below. You are taken through a range of environments, from the snowy Himalayan Mountains to the spiritual Shangri-Là. You’ll be making the most of a variety of weaponry and the video introduces you to the destructive foes you’ll be facing. Also shown was the incredible ability to virtually “pass the controller”, if you you’re a PlayStation Plus member, as you can invite friends to explore the vast open world together… Even if they don’t own the game!
InFAMOUS First Light
InFAMOUS First Light focuses on the story of Abigail “Fetch” Walker, a character from Second Son, and this will be stand-alone DLC for the last game. Since it’s nearing the final stages, it was only right that they present an action-packed debut trailer to get fans excited.
The Order: 1886
A new trailer was revealed for The Order: 1886, winner of over 25 awards at E3. In it, we hear from some of the characters, including Nikola Tesla who is the role you will play. He has joined The Order in the war against enemies both human and half-breed. You also catch a glimpse of some useable weapons designed by him, plus get an insight of the eerie environment of a New-Victorian London.
Activision gave a closer look at Destiny, which has now become the most pre-ordered new IP in history. A new multiplayer based trailer was released allowing everyone a peek at what they will experience with The Crucible. To top it all off, PlayStation players will be receiving exclusive content too.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
We saw more gameplay of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in the hilariously memorable appearance from Konami, with them taking ‘Snake in a box’ to a whole new level. Fans of this series will be familiar with sneaking around using 4 walls of cardboard, but I bet you didn’t know you could do this many things with something so simple…
One major unveiling was the title Until Dawn being rewritten, redesigned and rebuilt exclusively for PS4. You play as 8 friends who are stranded in a chilling mountain getaway, where things suddenly take a terrifying turn for the worst. Keep an eye out for this game over the rest of Gamescom as the studio, Supermassive Games, have hinted more is to come.
