Exodus:Gods and Kings

Watched this movie twice now, a good movie lots of action , the story most of us are familiar with, except Moses starts out as a man instead of a baby .If all of the full story was included in the movie we would need an interval.Only one moan, the cgi scenes with the chariots were a little obvious, this is what you get with blu ray, would this be more obvious on 4k.All in all still a good movie, acting spot on .

I go washed away by the effects

On the whole, this movie is an epic tale in every sense of the world. Big star names, expensive special effects and at two and a half hours long, this story really hits home. However, Christian Bale does not have the same screen power as previous Moses', namely Charlton Heston and Burt Lancaster. When he's in danger, I kept expecting him to whip out his Batman utility belt or summon the batmobile. Also, ''God' was portrayed as a small boy, the symbolism of this was lost on me. I gave this movie a middle of the road score because it's the special effects that carry the movie. There has been better tellings of this story and I feel that the choice of Mr Bale as Moses was wrong although no replacements immediately spring to mind. Moses morphed from a Prince of Egypt, to a farmer and then to a Robin Hood kind of character before finding his calling as a leader of men. Feels like the script writer was trying to justify the movie's length.
