Mel Gibson is Back!!!

Mel Gibson is a actor director that knows when to hit, how to hit,& always on the bullseye. A masterpiece for me that not only tells a true story but takes a piece of you and makes you think deeply. Bravo again to M.G . For giving us another great experience in cinema. I have this in the steel version. 4K IS CRISP & YOU CAN SMELL THE GUN POWDER, Highly recommended☆★☆★☆

A brutal modern classic

My anticipation for Hacksaw Ridge was extremely high. I really enjoy war movies, and particularly WWII films, so when I heard about a Mel Gibson-helmed WWII film coming, I got very excited. I was not disappointed. The tale is fascinating and absorbing, and all cast members are on point. Although the film starts reasonably slowly and takes a good hour to establish the character of Desmond Doss and his life before the war, the action picks up once they hit Hacksaw Ridge, and picks up aplenty. What follows is some of the most brutal and riveting war footage seen since the Omaha Beach landing sequence in Saving Private Ryan; even more so in some places. The feats of Doss during the next hour and a bit are nothing short of amazing; he truly is a war hero. To find out not only that most of the big action shots are done for real and not CG created, but the film was shot on a comparatively small budget in Australia, is a stunning achievement. Kudos to all involved. Desmond Doss's family should be very proud to have his story told in this way, and of his legacy. The special features included here further the viewing pleasure, and give good insight into the film and its making. Highly recommend checking them out post-viewing.
