The Punk Kings

A popular English band formed in 1975, the Sex Pistols inspired generations of musicians and shaped the industry in their image. To this very day, they are regarded as one of the most influential acts of all time.

When the band was formed, it was made up of vocalist Johnny Rotten (John Lydon), guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook, and bassist Glen Matlock. Over time, the band saw some changes to its line-up, such as Matlock being replaced by Sid Vicious in early 1977. However, one thing remained constant: their style was unlike anything else, offering powerful vocals and engaging in obscene behaviour that attacked conservative thinking.

The release of their debut album — Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols — gave them immediate global recognition. After that point, they released tons of popular songs, including ‘God Save The Queen’, ‘Pretty Vacant', 'Anarchy In The U.K.', 'Bodies', 'Holiday In The Sun', 'Problems', and 'Silly Thing' — amongst many others.

In 2006, they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. However, in true Sex Pistols style, they refused to attend their own induction ceremony.
