Think you know Fulci? Think again!
If you have Lucio Fulci pegged as the godfather of gore and nothing more this is the film to change your mind! Easily my favourite film of his outside of his late 70's / early 80's horror output . "Don't Torture A Duckling" is also fantastic but this is for me the more complete film The title suggests one thing but the film confounds those expectations entirely. More often than not considered a poor relation to Dario Argento this film is as far as I'm concerned all the proof that is needed that in fact Fulci was in many ways his equal and in some his superior If his work in the early 70's (including both "Don't..." & this film) hadn't riled the powers-that-be in Italy quite so much who knows how different his subsequent output might have been and how his career might now be viewed A strange yet fascinating film from a strange yet fascinating talent - take the chance!
