Great game, but...

5

Assassins Creed 2 is the best game in the series: Improves the faults of AC1 and before the yearly cash in of un-creativity of the the rest of the series. If you're going to start on this series, get this one. However, you may wish to research the DRM of this game and the games Ubisoft has made before buying if this sort of thing bothers you. I know many people who completely boycott all Ubisoft products because of its invasive DRM.

Assassin's Creed II

What can you say about the game that has brought to life renaissance Italy back to life.....The feeling of this place is so realistic. The game is incredibly addicting. You'll sit down at one moment and forget everything around you.....You'll take the role as Ezio Auditore and once more you'll bring this place back to life. You'll meet so many charactecrs from Italian history,so many stories......Maybe the best action-adventure that I played in whole my life.....If you like this period you'll definitly spend hours trying to descover every corner of these amazing cities......There was only flaw that Ubisoft made this game with DRM protection but that has already been changed. Now you only need internet connection at the begining and after that you can play the game offline with no problem.....The game is definitely must buy :)

Game for all ages

5

After playing Assassin's Creed game i thought that Ubisoft have gave the best of them selfs and that second part will be worse. Luckily i was wrong and Ubisoft did not disappointed their fans and gave us a really masterpiece called Assassin's Creed 2. From the beginning AC2 is looking and filling better than AC. New setting Italy in age of renaissance is really beautiful, The Story is improved quite a bit, Graphic is amazing, Gameplay is improved a lot, Soundtrack is one of the best i have ever heard. Renaissance Italy is done withe astonishing details (i am student of architecture so i know), that level of details in combination with great soundtrack provides really beautiful Atmosphere. Story is evolved and suck you even more into the game. Gameplay doesn't have any boring parts and it have great balance. Looking into the past this game is one of the best games ever made and fact that is based on real history and real cities is just amazing. DRM is not annoying as many people says and i never had any problems with DRM. To summarize if you like history, architecture or just want game that will give you hours of entertainment don't look further this is game for you.

Great game, worth a look.

Assassin's Creed 2 is a fantastic experience. Ubisoft has taken the first game, changed the setting and improved and built upon it in numerous ways. The game is heaps of fun, even if you just want to run around on top of buildings for a bit but the missions are great as well. The fighting system has been improved since the first game and works much better now, the AI has also been improved and the enemies are no longer stupid as they were in the first game. The only realy problem with this game is that the PC version is a little shoddy, mainly due to the DRM requiring you to have an internet connection on start up (the game has now been patched so you don't require a connection for the whole playing session), but also the controls aren't too great and not properly explained.

Benvenuto Ezio Auditore da Firenze

5

If you are into history, a person always looks into historical events for inspiration, and if you are also a gamer Assassin's Creed should be a remedy to feed your hunger in two ways. Assassin's Creed II is a perfect sequel to a game which missed perfection with its monotonous dynamics. ACII destroys this monotone style, increases the flexibility of gameplay, also it keeps the player's curiosity at a high level and with a shocking end it makes all the time spent worth. With its artistic graphics and sounds, you can eye witness the Italy of the Rennissence from Ezio Auditore da Firenze which is personalized and can be emphatized better than Altair, the protagonist of the first game. In addition there are secrets to be discovered everywhere and the game lets you administer a town, dye your clothes etc. Even there is no variety of background music, fighting is easier than before, ACII must be seen by all gamers.

An Amazing Game

5

At first look, this is an great game. At second look, it is an amazing game. Enhanced fight mechanics from Assassins's Creed makes the combat all the sweeter, as you dodge an attack and quickly slide your own blade into your attacker. IMMENSE amount of things to do, even after you finish the storyline, you can still go back to collect feathers, collect all the treasure... And theres the great new feature allowing you to change the colour of your robes, depending where you are, you could have a florentine red, or a deep emerald green, amongst many other choices. And as always, there is the free running around a VAST landscape, with new things to climb, hold on to and grab. The kind of game that will pull you in, and not let go for a good few days.

Excellent game

5

This game is excellent. It has so many improvements. It's side-quests are quite good, the main storyline ownz, the weapon variety is super. It's very addciting to the end. There are much collectibles, so you can play with it after beating the story. If you have good internet connection, DRM won't be a problem.. i had 2 or 3 issues because my internet sucked for like 10 secs... but nothing special. (and it wasn't the DRM's problem it was mine:) ). So, this game is really worth your money imo.

Up and down we go...

4

I bought AC2 a couple of weeks after launch, being afraid of the DRM that people kept saying "It`s the end of the world , RUUUUN!", And found out that the whole DRM thing is not that bad. It`s true, you need a permanent Internet Connection in order to play the game and it sometimes can be annoying in the servers are down for maintenance of whatever, but the bottom line is that you can live with it. The game itself is a pumped up version of AC1 with a much more broader variety of actions to be performed and varied missions that keep you wanting for more until the end of the game. If you haven`t played the first.... well, ... you won`t get to understand a large part of the story, but if you don`t care much about story-lines (you should!!!) you can still get a decent amount of fun from this game! I give it a 7.5/10 (or 4 out of 5) because of some minor bugs that sometimes made me fail some assassinations and the lack of Multiplayer.

A good game ruined by ubisoft.

1

From the start, the game sets off on the captivating journey of Desmond and later Ezio Auditore D'Firenze. The gameplay is definitely much better than the last Assassin's Creed but also contains the same amount of glitches and problems. What AC1 lacked in style and plot (due to its repeated gameplay) AC2 compensated with horrendous DRM protection with requirement of constant internet access. What if a devoted Ubisoft user doesn't have access to internet? That's a waste of money paid for the game. Overall, a good game ruined by means of pirating protection and the need for constant internet access.

Ubisoft have got a new form of DRM

1

Ubisoft have got a new form of DRM for all their PC games, which will require a constant internet connection to play their games. This includes Assassin's Creed 2... If you get disconnected while playing, you're booted out of the game. All your progress since the last checkpoint or savegame is lost, and your only options are to quit to Windows or wait until you're reconnected.
