Great game

Monster Hunter 3: Tri is a great game, I haven't tried other Monster Hunter games but this game is really fun to play and is very entertaining. It might be one of the best games on Wii.

Monster Hunter Tri Review

I'll start off with the good bits. The first time you play this game it is truly amazing. It is a really fun game and will really leave you wondering "how did they manage to fit all of this into this one disk?". You join the game as a character who arives at a village, told that there is a huge sea monster about, which can never be a good thing. throuhout the game you are faced with monsters to hunt, or other challenges which you must do to progress, for example fishing for a particular type of fish, or to find 3 mushrooms. These get progressively harder as you go through the game, always making sure that you are still being challenged. You can buy or forge armour and weapons from the main village area, by collecting the materials needed from rocks etc. After all of this you'd think that this was a fairly good game as it is. But then theres the online mode! This takes all of the quests in the main game, ponks you with other people from across the world, and says "GO". Basically what you are getting here is 2 games. One single player and one multiplayer, something which is rarely done but works very well. Now the not so good bits. The controls. You can play this game using either the classic controller or using the wii mote and nunchuck. The Wii Mote and nunchuck method is by far the worst,as you have to tilt the remote to preform different attacks, which doesnt work too well at all. So this seems like a pretty peret game, however, if you are looking for a game that you can pick up and play for say 15 minutes and then leave for a while, do not buy Monster Hunter Tri. It is an amazing game, yes, but you have to get properly into it and have a full session to fully enjoy it. Some battles take up to 40 minutes to complete, so if you think that you wont last for that long, then this is not for you. Overall a great game, but not to everyones taste. 4 stars

you dont need the controller!

a few friends of mine say that you need the extra controller, but i use the remote and nunchuck combination and it works amazingly well, although if you are used to the pad from 360 or ps3 you may want to invest in that.... either way, this game is ill.... 80 hours at least worth of play time... i am going to savour every last one... peace

Dust off that Wii!

Finally a good reason to power up the Wii again! You create and customise a Hunter who is tasked with the job of dispatching a great sea monster who threatens the quaint island village, but a great deal of quests and side quests need to be done first. While all of the trailers make the game out to be this epic monster hunting game where you roam the land slaying monsters, the reality is a lot more detailed than that. Fans of the series will find that a few things have changed compared to the PSP and PS2 versions, but will feel right at home none the less. However for newcomers the initial feeling is that all of the options in the game are a little overwhelming. You have the option to customise pretty much everything in the game, from the look of your character to the armour and weapons you use, the equipment you carry and the style of monster slaying that you employ. It is because of this complexity that I haven't rated it a full 5 stars as it won't be to everybody's taste - it certainly isn't the typical Wii family game affair, and will easily cater to the more hardened gamers needs. Graphics are some of if not the best seen on a Wii so far. Granted they're not PS3 or X360 quality, but certainly nothing to sneeze at. Once you've had a go at the single player mode to get your bearings I recommend a dip into the online game mode where up to 4 people can gather to tackle quests together. This game doesn't make use of the cumbersome Wii friend code system allowing you to freely play with strangers and add them as friends if you choose. It also supports Wii Speak for online chat if that floats your boat. Would recommend this game to anyone who likes the Monster Hunter series, RPGs or adventure games. Would not advise it for the younger age group or casual family game groups.

Have a nice hunt.

Monster Hunter is a Japanese action game. It is quite unknown in europe, but it is one of the most popular game in Japan. You play as a hunter and you have to help de guild. The quests are very differents (kill a huge monster, bring back an egg...) and the gametime is quite infinite. You hace to learn to know the beast you are hunting. Each hunt is different, and some of them can be quite long, up to fifty minutes to kill one monster. This episode brings new features, such underwater fights and an online mode. You can now fight with your friends ! Will you be brave enough to try?

tri amazing

Most games today can last on a few hours until your board and you feel you have wasted money buying it well with monster hunter tri this is the complete opposite. This game has so much to offer you could be still playing it in a year’s time as there is over 300 hours to complete everything this game has to offer. To start with there is an offline mode and online mode in this game. The offline mode is all about you having to save a small village from the monsters that are attacking it. When your start you will find you out that to become a monster hunter is more than running to it and just killing it. To become the best you need to find food for your travels and many other accessories otherwise you will never survive. After playing the offline for a good amount of time you should be ready for where monster hunter tri become a real great game. Online mode is based in a town where monster hunter from all over come together to get task for many different monster. In the online mode you will be able to take on monsters a group of four so this makes taking the big monsters down so much more fun because you can work together in to defeating them. There some negatives to game like the underwater controls can feel a bit clunky but you do get use to them. Also the story could be a bit advanced than just can you save are village. Overall monster hunter tri is deep and involving game that will keep you coming back for more and more.
