A new approach to air combat games!

I've been a fan of the Ace Combat series for a long time, to be precise, it all started back in the 90's with Ace Combat 2 for the PlayStation One. Though this may not be the same old Ace Combat we know, it is still a very good and innovative game.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Limited Edition

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Limited Edition is a very good game, and perfect Limited Edition's loot for it's price. Assault Horizon is the explosive action inspired by Call of Duty, and one of the best game of 2011.

Surprisingly good

I always loved Ace Combat games, but this one just keeps on surprising me. From the cut scenes to unexpected action moments, to the new toe-to-toe fighting mode, and the great graphics, which are more detailed than I expected from a game like this. If you're into this kind of game, I totally recommend it, specially knowing how cheap is it now.

To my Liking... :)

I must say I just love the action pack feel in these new series of ace combat. The entire dogfight chase make the games even more exciting. Recommended for people who likes excitement and the anxiousness of chasing a target and finally taking it out.

Solid Game

I've played several missions and the game is ok. I think it´s a bit better then H.A.W.X 2 but that's just my opinion. The notebook is just an empty book. Sad cause I thought it would be like a little manual with some infos about the machines you fly but that's OK. The missions are kinda long but I guess that depends from your skills My advise for more fun: Change the control! You can use the old Ace Combat control. That means you can do barrel rolls! Use the preset control and your plane steers like a car. Regards from Germany

Great Action

Ace Combat Assault Horizon is a great arcade game. Superb graphics and sound. If you just want to have some fun and feel like 'Iceman' from Top Gun this is at close as it gets on PS3. If you are a fan of the previous Ace Combat titles you should watch out for the 'on rails' experience from time to time. Thankfully you can switch the on rails 'Dogfight mode' off in the options. The addition of Helicopter levels is a nice change in pace but is again something some people will love and others won't. Give it a go if you want some fun!

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Limited Edition

Ace Combat Assault Horizon, simply is, an incredible game, that adds a more-than-adequate ending, onto a very entertaining story. The planes are a bit difficult to control at first, for anybody that don't know how their controls work, but when you get used to it, the whole experience becomes very entertaining. The online mode seems endless, without any problems like slow networks, or anything similar. Highly recommended.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Limited Edition

I have to admit, compared to the last game in the Ace Combat series, Ace Combat Assault Horizon has been improved a lot! The dog-fights, the overall use of missiles and flares etc. - it all looks brilliant. However, unlike the previous game, Assault Horizon is based on our, real world, not a fictional world, and to me, the major critical change, is the player's role. In all of the previous games, the player is most likely to start as a "rookie" fighter pilot, or a no-name mercenary, and then, after completing various missions, he becomes more and more famous, and some players, like me, enjoy this idea. But Assault Horizon, the player starts as a Colonel, with some formidable skill, so it lacks that feeling of character growth, and since a lot of different elements have been improved, there are fewer missions compared to previous games. Overall, the bread and butter of this game is brilliant, but it's turned out to be a let-down compared the previous Ace Combat games...

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Limited Edition

Ace Combat Assault Horizon is a great game for fans of the Ace Combat series as well as catering nicely for newcomers to it. There's a drastic change in some game-play mechanisms, leaning towards a more action-oriented style, means that it may not be for everyone, especially die-hard fans of the series, as they might not like the changes. Nonetheless, it adds new flavour to the traditional dogfight, by including helicopter and gunner sequences. The close-up dogfight mode can be a little unrealistic and weird at first, but it gets better, and becomes a matter of taste. I still recommend this game, as it's very good fun.
