New Resi, take two

I have been a fan of Resident Evil since the first game - a HUGE fan. I still remember dialogues (though they were mostly just cheesy cliches - but they did give the series a certain charm) and I still get really happy when I see a shotgun. The turn of the tides with Resi 4 did not sit well with me - I couldn't adapt to the new pace of the game and the idea of a third person shooter where you can't move while aiming. I tried, I failed. Haven't touched the game since. I might give it a try one of these days, with the upcoming HD Collection. Resident Evil 5 on the other hand provided me with something I always liked - co-op play. Any potential drawbacks of the game can be forgotten easily when you have someone to share your woes with. After a while, I got used to the aiming system and the movement, and had a lot of fun in the game. Unfortunately, I didn't find the characters nor the story improved on any of the previous ones, especially dialogue-wise. Chris with his balloon arms was a bit over the top, really. The enemies were interesting, especially the bigger ones, yet I don't think I'll ever love anything as much as a good ol' lurchin' zombie-thing. I still do, however, cherish the tingling sensation of finding a box of shotgun shells - and that's all that matters.

Excellent

It's exciting, scary. Play with the lights off and high volume. And every time there is action, enjoy as if you were inside. IS GREAT!

Gold Resident Evil

Compatible with the Move adds the ability to play as if you were Chris or Sheva! With the DLC you will discover the events of the escape of Jill after you save it and what happened to his death, those who loved this game and this story, or who wants to know all the details, should not have it fail! If you've never played Resident Evil 5 and want to own a new copy with all available content, get the Gold version. This uber-release contains everything the original did, plus these extras: Lost in Nightmares Episode; Desperate Escape Episode; Versus Mode; Mercenaries Reunion Mode; Four new costumes; Extra figurines!

Good game

The game "Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition" is very good. There is action, shooting, zombies and the protagonists are cool!! The best mode is the co-op because I can play with my brother and it's very funny, There are many options with this game and the extra content is great fun too. Ultimately, I can play this again and again and it's not boring at all.

Made for move

5

I got Resident Evil 5 purposely as a PS3 Move game. I had previously got the Move but it lay there gathering dust because the appeal only lasted so long. The menu is easy to navigate so I got straight into the game. The graphics in the cutscenes are amazing. You start off in a wild Savannah with sweeping plains, beautifully animated. My first impression of the gameplay was clunky. It seemed a bit counter productive that you have to stop the aim but the move worked so perfectly with it that you'd think it was developed with Move in mind. The campaign is a long enough campaign, best played with a friend for the full experience but the AI is quite good. The "infected" are challenging to kill so there will be a lot of tense moments as you fumble and try to reload when you're getting swarmed by the undead. The bosses are great fun and varied. There is a bit of a pattern on how to kill them that emerges after the third act. The end and twist are great and the overall story, dialogue and voice acting are very engaging. Mercenaries mode provided some of the most fun I've ever had with a game. Hordes of zombies come at you and you must try to rack up as many points as possible within a certain time frame. There are time bonuses and points bonuses to get. Once again best played with a friend. There are a few great extras that are well worth it including never played before missions. My verdict: A great game, essentially one to play with a friend. It would have got five stars except for the steep learning curve when it comes to controls

A fun and frantic evolution

5

The first Resident Evil for the new generation of consoles doesn't just improve the quality of the graphics but also the abilities of the enemies. No longer do you face off against slow moving zombies, but instead mutated humans who will anticipate your actions and even set-up barricades to block your exits. To combat this new menace you not only have a permanent onscreen partner but a wide range of more athletic moves, including dodges and the ability to take cover behind any piece of scenery. The biohazards are evolving yet again - and so is the game itself.
