The game will be based on the most popular section of the anime, “The Sanctuary- Gold Twelve Palaces” Chapter.
The boss characters called the “Gold Saints” appeared inside the Twelve Palaces, and the paths connecting the palaces together mainly ran through barren locations. However, in this game, the enemy of the Saints, the Pope, utilizes all of his warriors of the Sanctuary, his home territory, to impede the main character’s progress through these regions.
Polished Cloths for core fans:
Among fans, their image of the true form of this Cloth is now therefore a mix of these two depictions. This game will aim to replicate the “ideal” form of the Cloths as held by Saint Seiya fans, with the highlights sparkling white and the shadows reflecting metallically through the use of environmental mapping.
Characters in variety and differences in each enemy grunt:
During the game, a large number of enemy grunts will attack the player. These are not, however, all identical clones of each other. While their main color is a unified depiction of the “strength of that enemy,” use of different colored belts and boots reduces the feeling of them all being identical clones. Furthermore, the AI is not group based but rather each character acts independently, giving them a sense of lacking unity and really bringing out that feeling of “grunt-like weakness and pathetic nature” seen in the source material.
As the player progresses through the game, attributes like attack strength, defense and amount of cosmos will increase. In addition, the characters will learn new techniques or their techniques will become stronger, through either the story or character development.
Destructible environment faithful to the anime:

PRO many many characters of the original saga great boss battles CONTRO same enemies frame rate
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is excellent, I really like it. The product arrived in time and the price is good. I'm happy.
I love Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle. I always liked the cartoons, so I obviously like the game.
Great game especially for fans of the manga or anime. Very good and interesting level up system. Gives a variety of things to do allowing for a longer and better gameplay.
I'm a huge fan of the series, and for me Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle almost nears perfection. The only thing I miss is a VS mode. The co-op mode and mission mode are fun, but I really liked to be able to fight against my sister with our favourite Saints. It's recommended for any fan of the series!
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a very funny game.
Excellent game based on the hard to find cartoon "Knights of the Zodiac". A winner!
As the title says, if you're a fan of Saint Seiya you should probably get Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle. It's from the same company that developed the two last games in the series for the PS2, Dimps Corporation. Sanctuary Battle differs a little from the previous style. Although all the previous games were based on a classic fighting genre, this new version is more inspired on the 'hack and slash' genre, which is very similar to Dynasty Warriors. The game follows the story of the Sanctuary saga, as the title says, which probably the most famous and most loved arc of the series. It's Japanese full-voiced only, with English subtitles, which I think is great since it's more immersive and you get a feel of what the original series really is.
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a must have for hardcore and casual saint seiya fans. The graphics are top notch cell shaded, which combine with fluid animation. The game looks great including all the characters in anime form. The details in the level design is amazing. It's pushing the PS3 capabilities to its limits. The gameplay is great. There are tons of combos and special moves from the anime series. Boss battles are challenging enough to keep you on your toes at all times. Hordes of enemies coming right at you all time making the game challenging and fun. The overall game is outstanding. The battle music, character rosters, level design and fantastic animation all blends together to create a perfect saint seiya game for fans and hardcore gamers combined. It's definitely a must have title to add to your Playstation 3 collection.
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a great game. The game is for fans of this saga, only those who know the original stories will be able to fully grasp what is going on. The game play is dynamic and almost respects the original story. The graphics are not bad. If you like the TV series, you will enjoy this game. The battles are a little repetitive and the graphics are not the best in this generation, but you can revive the epic battles in the sanctuary! I love it, and I have several friends bothering me to finish it so I can lend it to them!
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a very good game about the Saint Seiya Saga. It's a mix of an action game with bosses battle mode. Semi-cartoon graphics and not bad details of the characters' armour and special moves. You can also increase strength, defense and power through the XP points. Two players battle and there's a wide gallery of action figures, clips and more.
Finally Saint Seiya in PS3... although, it could be better. The very worst problem is no 1vs 1 versus mode. I think the essence of Saint Seiya ought to be this. The modes, also, are a little bit short. It's a game only to fans.
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a great game for animé fans. You can play with the gold saints (not Dohko though) and all the special moves are here. The game is also in the language your PS3 is. Voices are in Japanese.
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a hack and slash game that is perfect for saint Seiya fans and includes the saga of the 12 houses. It's easy to play, with different combos and a nice offline multi-player. It also has an excellent story mode. The graphics are OK, but they could be better. If you don't know Saint Seiya, avoid this game because it would be repetitive and boring for you .
I'm an huge fan of Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle! This game is perfect for those who love anime. The graphics are impressive. The sound and animation effects are excellent! I have played the game and enjoyed it since the first time. Sincerely this is one of the best titles on the PS3 that I have played.
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a must have for all the anime fans. This is much better than the ones on the PS2. Some parts have a "Dynasty Warriors" style and the final bosses (gold saints) are one on one fights that are more or less like "DB Budokai". It's not a perfect game, but a very good option now that it has a low price. Enjoy!
First things first, this is mainly a game for fans of the Saint Seiya manga and anime. It follows the Sanctuary story arc (hence the subtitle of the game), with the fights against the gold saints. However, it takes some liberties here and there in the stories. Nothing too harsh but strange decisions nonetheless, probably to stretch the game a bit more. The game combines two kinds of phases: the roads to the gold saints houses, fill with hundreds of cloned enemies and a couple of mid-bosses (Casius, the black saints,...), and the battles against the gold saints themselves, in a 1 vs 1. After the first walk through, alternative story lines also open up. Apart from the 'campaign', there are a couple more of kinds of gameplay. Different rearrangement of the battles or battling with a sidekick, not so special but it adds a bit more of variety. The graphics are nice. Nothing too fancy but in the cell shading kind, good for representing the anime. The models of the foot soldiers are too repetitive, specially since you are fighting hundreds and hundreds of them. The animations are smooth usually and the cut scenes of the big bang attacks really hit the spot. Sounds are faithful to the series although with the great soundtrack that the series always had, the game could have used a bit more of that. For re playability, there are always some trophies and collections to get. Achieve A rankings in all missions, perform all the big bang attacks, complete the collection of character models and original toys. All in all, it's a nice game for fans but for other people that already have some of the Dynasty Warriors or similar series, maybe not so interesting. Still, as a fan, I'm greatly enjoying it.
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is really good and has high replay value. It will bring great memories to fans of the series. The bad parts are the repetitive fights, with little variety of scenarios and enemies. The graphics are also quite poor.
If you are a fan of Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle then this is the game for you. Defeating a golden saint is priceless, but playing one of them is "another dimension". Maybe it's not the best title in terms of graphics, but it is really fun. If you don´t know Saint Seiya maybe you won't enjoy it but this game is a good excuse to get into it and fire your cosmos to the seventh sense.
Manga lovers should definitely give this game a go, it's incredible!!
