Totally Batastic !

Incredible Value for money - All the Downloadable Content on second disc and the game is superb! Such smooth gameplay and the scenes of Gotham City are amazing as you hit the rooftops and crane gantry's! Totally immersive gameplay - You can stick to the one mission or you can allow yourself to be distracted by various smaller challenges and investigations.Personally, allowing the sub-missions to vary my game and leaving the collection of Riddler Trophies until the end. If you liked Arkham Asylum then you'll love this game - The city appears massive! Buy it and enjoy!

Amazing...

Batman: Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition is a bigger and better game than its already excellent predecessor. The game is absolutely filled with things to do, and the new open world nature of AC is a blessing. There are almost too many upgrades, gadgets and secrets in the game and trying to remember combos is a challenging, but welcome, exercise in hand-eye coordination at times. Adding to a decent length campaign are hundreds of Riddler challenges, numerous side missions, balloon popping, dive bombing, challenge maps and a short, fun stint as Catwoman. Amazing!

Great game

To put it simply, Batman: Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition far exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect it to be so easy to get used to the controls. The fight system is one of the highlights of the game, it's easy to get used to but not so easy to master. Graphically, the game is above average. They didn't blow me away, but more than adequately were up to the task. I would recommend this game both to fans of the Batman franchise and to newcomers alike.

Worthy of Game of the Year?

I bought the original version (Steel book not GOTY) on release as I was a big fan of Arkham Asylum. Whilst not quite as focussed due to the much more 'open world' of Gotham, everything else is as good if not better than the original. Arkham City is quite vast and you can glide practically all over it without ever touching the ground. The story is ok, but felt a little broken due to the side missions (which could be left out but on the whole most are good fun) It was great to be able to play as Catwoman and prowl around Arkham City... In my opinion this was definitely my game of the year so it was nice to see them release this version. With this version you also get the DLC content too (not sure if it is all content). The extra content equates to Robin & NIghtfire combat challenges and a new addition to the story - 'Harley's Revenge' Although I am not a big fan of the combat missions in general, these 2 additions however add a few new arenas/areas (including the Batcave) as well as the opportunity to fight/stealth your way as Robin or Nightfire. The combat areas/arenas are the same for all 4 characters (Batman & Catwoman too) but they do have a few unique moves. Harleys Revenge continues the story directly after the end of Arkham City's and will give you a few more hours worth. Without giving away spoilers - you get to play as Robin as well as Batman in this mission. Overall I thought the original package was worth getting on release, (and worth getting anyway!!) however this is the most definitive and best version!

Great Sequel

5

Batman: Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition is a great game. There's more content than the original Batman Arkham Asylum. I would highly recommend playing this one, as it has all the DLC.

Arkham City GOTYE

5

Batman: Arkham City was one of the best games of 2011 for various reasons. The story is great, with some awesome twists and links in well with the first game, but playing Arkham Asylum isn't essential to enjoy Arkham City. The game improves upon the mechanics of the series with more gadgets and combos at your disposal to tackle old and new enemies, combining stealth and action very nicely. A nice touch is that all the gadgets from the first are already unlocked straight away in this one so you don't feel like its a repeat. The game of the year edition comes with all the DLC at a cheap price so it is really good value for money.
