A True Masterpiece

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This game is most definately one of the most enjoyable games to date from 2008. At first you create your character directly after being born and then you spend about half an hour getting to learn the controls inside the vault, at first this may seem a bit boring and tedious but its a helpful way of saving time later and getting to know the story before being able to free-roam the environment. Free roam: the ability to decide where you want to go and when is one of the defining features of this rpg, you aren't bound by time limits and if you wish to skip missions then all you will lose is a playstation trophy. When immersed in this game it will have your imagination working and wondering about why everything is the way it is. The air of death and the knowledge of what was is despairing, yet the game manages to balance this with character interactivity so it doesn't automatically make you feel lonely. Your Choice: your decisions are what affect how you will play the game later on, for example you could choose to befriend a character who would later help you on your journey. A couple of downsides and things to remember: -The game doesn't autosave very often or where you might want it to, so to get around this just manually save if you think its possible you might die soon after to avoid losing valuable game saves. -The graphics are decent and clear, however at some points can feel a little out-dated Overall this game is definately the best of its kind and doesn't have much more to be desired. Fallout 3 satisfies the use of spare time well and, depending on how you choose to play it, can deliver at least 60 hours worth of game time. For the price on here, it is totally worth every penny.
