Starfox 64 3D

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Starfox 64 3D is great for both those who have and haven't played the Nintendo 64 version. For those who haven't, this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy this classic with updated graphics and ofcourse getting the experience in 3D. For those who allready have played it knows it's rather short. This make it perfect for the handheld. You can beat the game sitting on the bus on your way to work or whatever, trying to improve your grade. Although it's short it still gives more playvalue because of the different routes and secret passages you can find. I haven't played the multiplayer mode yet but I think it's a nice feature that you and your friends can battle eachother via local wireless. I don't care for the new gyro controls, but navigating the arwing with the analog thumbstick feels great, so no worries. This is a game to pick up when you got some sparetime over, I guess it's suits my preferences of a handheld game, others may complain over the short main game and the lack of challenge to beat the game.

A brilian remake

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Since this game is a remake, I only introduce the differences from the original N64 game. First, the 3D effect is quite good. Actually it is the best of eight 3DS games I own. The graphic itself is dramatically improved than the original game. Second, 3DS mode is kind of 'easy mode', which is very friendly to new gamers. While N64 mode and expert mode are totally the same as the original game. So I say three difficulty levels can cover different kinds of users. Second, this time a new score attack mode is supplied to gamers thinking they are really 'hardcore'. Although the gold medals in the mode are not that hard, you can try chasing the possible highest score to prove your strategy and technique. Third, and we have a multiplayer combat mode. I can not say much about this mode. Since I only got few chances to play it with humans rivals. This mode is not appealing to me: you have to get someone to play with you face to face. Yes, it is local wireless. But some of the stages are cool and only one card for 4 player is also nice. To conclude, this is a very good game. Although it is different from the main stream shotting games, it has its value. However its sale is disappointing. I wish Nintendo had pushed the market harder.
