My husband & I are big fans of British films and TV and especially of British detective series. I'm so glad that we ordered the Inspector Alleyn - The Complete Series from Zavvi.com. This series has excellent production values (period - 30's) and intriguing characters. In the U.S., we don't always have access to everything that the U.K. puts out, but the quality, in my opinion, is superior to American TV - because of the writing, the production values, the skilled actors - who actually come from theater, and the directing. Zavvi.com is a great source of finding - hard-to-find British TV series that are not available in the regular online purchasing channels. Anyone that has a love of Detective series will not be disappointed in the Inspector Alleyn - The Complete Series, DVD set.

A good old fashioned "who dunnit?" with enough style and quiet humour to keep it interesting. I watched this in close order, the series becomes addictive.
