Take the good points of the previous one and add some welcome increases, and you've got Far Cry 3. The game play is more dynamic. It's a must have.
Far Cry 3 is a great game, with definite progression from the open world of Far Cry 2 but with the beautiful locations and temples of the original Far Cry, and less of the mutant monsters. There are a nice selection of weapons available from early on with the ability to save up and buy them if you don't want to travel around freeing the radio towers. I also like the idea of hunting and crafting items from animals to carry more weapons and ammo. The stealth aspect works well sneaking into an enemy base to take out the boss is always fun. Do you take them out from a distance with your silenced sniper rifle or bow, or do you sneak into the base and plant mines and explosives? Both methods can be fun. I've yet to stick C4 to a car and drive it at the base, dive out and detonate but looking forward to trying that.
Far Cry 3 is an excellent first person shooter, with great graphics and sound, perhaps needs more optimization. A sandbox FPS to enjoy with a long campaign.
Very enjoyable game, played every quest and got every signature weapon. A must play!
I have liked all of the Far Cry games up until Far Cry 3. This one has lost the plot for me. The main person in the game has got younger in the story line. They have spoiled it for me.
