Wow: excellent package at an excellent price. If you don't mind having a cable connecting your headphones to your set-up, you'd do well to get this set. Just think: by being connected by a cable, the headset never needs charging! Laugh at your friends with their puny, weak-batteried stereo headsets. Snort with derision as someone tells you how great his surround sound system is. Unless they are using surround sound headphones, they ain't got *expletive deleted*! Set-up for my PS3 took a couple of minutes, was very clearly laid out in the instruction booklet and all required cables were included. Did you read that, Hardware Vendors? All cables were included! The surround sound is awesome and I can honestly say it makes a difference to my game score. Not that I was very good to begin with to be honest but on Hardcore Search and Destroy I've gone from accepting a 0.5 k/d to being annoyed if my k/d is less than 1. Now when I hear "finish the mission, you're the only one remaining", I have a chance to do just that. Footsteps are readily heard and, assuming your reactions are sharp enough and brain isn't so hot boxed that you shoot teammates who are running behind you, this headphone package will give you a massive advantage. To be able to adjust game and chat volumes separately with a flick of the thumb is great: if suddenly you don't have friends online you can turn the voicechat volume to 0, turning it back up again only when basking in a sweet killcam of you running, spinning on the spot and taking out the baddie behind you because you heard him chasing you! Damn fool: Why you walk so loud now? Can't you see my headphones? When I Prestige I was planning to unlock a good weapon. Now that I have these headphones the first thing I'll permanently unlock will be the Awareness perk so I can get even more out of these ears of Satan. One word of caution though: campers do not make much noise so keep that in mind. But hey: haters gonna hate, campers gonna camp, right? But when they reload, when they pull the pin on a grenade or when they think too loudly: now you have a chance of finding them.

Great surround sound headset

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

After a long search for a decent surround sound headset which can be used with a variety of equipment I eventually went for the Turtle Beach DP11 Headset and I'm very pleased I did. Although I usually prefer true surround sound as opposed to virtual it was the fact that this headset has it's own sound card processing unit (the DSS2) meaning it can be used with anything with a digital optical output (along with the very impressive demo video on theTurtle Beach site) which made up my mind. I use them with my PS3 (for gaming/Blu Ray/DVD), Panasonic DMR-HW120 Freeview+HD twin tuner HDD Recorder (powered by the units USB and in Dolby Digital surround sound with the supplied optical lead), TV and eventually my Netbook (when I get hold of an optical USB soundcard). The sound quality is great with a real feeling of direction and solid bass. Call Of Duty sounds awesome and the heavy combination of music, dialogue and FX which can sound cluttered on some equipment sounds clear and balanced allowing you to hear subtle directional sounds and dialogue. It's even improved my online multiplayer skills. The headset is light and comfortable making it suitable for long gaming or film sessions and the in-line volume means the level can be easily adjusted if it's too soft or loud. Overall, this is a versatile and good quality headset at an affordable price.

Great Item

I love this Turtle Beach: DP11 Headset the sound quality is brilliant. I love the fact that you can adjust the chat volume individually to the game volume. The only thing I don't like is there is so many leads but other than that I really love this item. Definitly a 5 star buy!

I was recommended this Turtle Beach: DP11 Headset by a friend of mine and I'm pleased to admit that this is a very good headset. I'm using mine with a ps3 and it adds a whole new dimension to the game. Buy with confidence as it's well worth the money.

All around good with two flaws

The Turtle Beach: DP11 Headset is a good headset. The mic quality is fantastic, and it's lightweight and comfortable. It works brilliantly on both the PC and PS3 (I use it mostly for PC) and the DSS2 does a fantastic job with the sound. However, on the PC you need a sound card which supports Dolby Digital Live to get the surround sound. I had to buy a new sound card for this. Also, the surround sound does not feel as real as having speakers. Other than this, the DP11 is a fantastic headset and amazing value for money.

Turtle Beach DP11

The Turtle Beach: DP11 Headset is amazing, especially in Black Ops 2, the surround sound is epic. You can change the sound settings via preset settings to allow more bass, or more treble, to hear footsteps clearer. The headset is so comfortable, it is as if it is not on your head. The speakers are 50mm which is very big for a headset and it cups your ears, rather than squeeze them. My only problem is that the dss2 doesn't support microphone input so you have to use up 2 USB slots on the PS3, one for the dss2 and one for the headset itself.
