Hammer Classic

The Curse of Frankenstein - Double Play (Blu-Ray and DVD), Hammer classic, is finally on Blu-ray. I bought this as I remember watching these with my Grandfather as a child, they are classic monster movies. The disc is well worth owning, contains a few different versions in different aspect ratios and some excellent extra features. Hope they release more of these Hammer films on Blu-ray soon.

Ten out of Ten !!

Fantastic release of an all time classic. Packed with loads of extras. Cannot rate this high enough! Absolute bargain as well.

The Curse of Frankenstein - Double Play (Blu-Ray and DVD)

If you are a Hammer Horror fan then this is a good addition to your collection, even just for the extras. I purchased this recently, and the extras are good (Melvyn Hayes is great). The audio commentary with Marcus Hearn & Jonathan Rigby is good, as they both try to better each other with unknown info on the movie. As already stated by Tanith, the quality of the Blu-Ray disc is disappointing (certainly for the price). I expected much stronger vibrant colours. But this is just my personal view. Worth watching as a Halloween treat.

stick with the Warner brothers version!

Massive hammer fan so when i heard this was being released on blu ray, i was very excited. already had the WB dvd version so when i put it in my blu ray player for the first time was amazed at the high quality, so when i finally got the liongate blu ray version, thought id be looking at a work of art, as meant to of been restored. utterly disappointing, it seemed to be washed out with a consistent flickering throughout! this is the worst copy i have ever seen, couldn't believe it after all the hype, especially when Dracula prince of darkness was such a great restoration!
