Stunning

The picture on this Blu-Ray is stunning. I last saw it on DVD and it looked pretty good then. It's a bit of a shame we only get the DVD audio. No Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD Master but the sound is still pretty good. Quite spacious. Story wise it's kind of all been done before but I know there are only so many ways you can tell a story. With the Australian outback being so vast I guess that can add to the terror that the characters go through. Lost in the middle of nowhere and when it's dark it's really dark and if you really try an put yourself in the situation these guys find themselves in I think you'll get pretty creeped out. I gave it 3 stars cause of the lack of Hi-Def audio otherwise I would give it 4.

An interesting slice of Australian horror

This was an interesting, and mostly unique horror film, the first two thirds of the film are a slow burn, we get to know our three main characters, and get to take in some stunning scenery of the Australian outback, it's rare for a modern horror film to spend so much time and effort on these aspects of a story. Of course once everything is out of the way, things of course take a turn for the worst and we're treated to a run of the mill slasher film, although it's played as a much more realistic and gritty experience than most horror films of a similar nature, thing's get dark and violent but it's still an interesting film and well worth the watch if you're looking for more of a slow paced and interesting horror film from the modern catalogue, instead of a barrage of constant violence and cheap scares.
