OSS 117: Nest of Spies
Jean Dujardin is simply hilarious. French very own David Niven.

Cairo Nest of Fun
Jean DuJardin, currently looking a hot contender for an oscar stars in the oft tread Spy Spoof Genre. The difference here is that our protagonist doesn`t play straight for laughs. He`s a boorish, sexist swinging 60s spy whose methods for dealing with girls and bad guys alike borders on the psychotic. He has a strangley dubious past with his best friend told in hiralariously unconfortable flashbacks throughout. Shot in almost perfect 60s detail using the production design evokes all those funky retro movies that so obviously inspired it, Casino Royale springs to mind except here the comedy is spot on. Our hero is suave, sophisticated and at times a complete swine and it`s comforting to know that if hollywood won`t take the risks poking fun at our heros that this french treat certainly will. There`s just a different rhythm to this than say the recent remake of `Get Smart`. It never seems to play for the obvious launghs and never seems forced. James Bond watch out, bady guy, spy, boss and beautiful girls alike, OSS 117 takes no prisoners (literally) and noone can fully escape his unique brand of suave and arrogant misbehaviour. I loved this movie. You might too.
