The (world exclusive) Limited Edition of Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection is now available for pre-order
Despite the usual selection of eye-catching deals – including Deathsmiles on Xbox 360 for £9.85 and the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 5 on PS3 for £11.85 – this week’s Mega Monday is all about Solid Snake. Available for pre-order today is the (very) limited edition version of Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection on the Playstation 3. In addition to the content that’s included in the standard version – HD versions of Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker – this bundle also includes the following:
Steelbook packaging
A copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
A PSN code to download the first Metal Gear Solid game
Some limited edition art cards
Only 4,000 copies of this edition are being made in total, and each one is individually numbered. But if you’re already salivating at the prospect of securing yourself some fanbase bragging rights, cool your boots; getting hold of #1 simply ain’t happening. Hideo Kojima already has dibs on it.
This edition of the game is a world exclusive, and is only available on zavvi.com.

Do you know what would have been even better? A collection that wasn’t ‘missing’ the first Metal Gear Solid game. Sorry but a DLC code is a poor substitute – I think any serious collector would agree.
Without physical media for all the titles that comprise the collection it is for want of a better word ‘incomplete’ and as such seems over-priced for what is essentially ‘Steel’Book packaging and a couple of art cards.

It’s a shame that all the limited editions will quickly be racked up by money grubbing morons who will buy several copies and then sell them for extortianate prices on ebay… zavvi should limit each buyer to 1 or maybe 2 copies as I think it’s extremely unfair on the REAL fans…
It’s just as bad as when some noob buys a very limited edition of something, opens it up and dicks with it and then expects you to trade two limbs for it online after they’ve used the dlc code and damaged the extra content included.
