Not the best anime film ever produced, and certainly not for the squeamish. Regardless this is certainly a classic film and a required watch as long as you can stomach some disturbing imagery. And this is definitely the best way to view it, in crystal clear 1080p.
Cheap for a steelbook release. A little light on extras, but the image and audio are top notch.
Akira - The Collectors Edition is a Japanese animation considered to be revolutionary at its time of release in 1988. The reason becomes apparent after watching the 2 hour film packed with themes held together by superb direction, superior animation and remarkable sound. This film is recommended to fans of Sci-Fi, Japanese animation and those who enjoy films that make you think. I highly recommend.
The tin design is excellent, awesome revibe for one of the most influential sci-fi anime of the past 3 decades. Can't recommend this film enough 5*****. Sendit.com price is a bargain too
the best known anime gets the hd treatment and boy is it good, well i say good it`s fantastic!! clear bright colours 5.1 surround sound brilliant all round. highly recommmended
excellent film i had fond memories of this film from my teens and expected to be dissappointed when watched it again. I was wrong - it was better than i remembered a good crisp visual transfer on blu ray really immersive sountrack and action that makes you just want to keep watching i would recommend this film to any fans of either action sci/fi or grown up animations (not really a kids toon) and i love the steelbook case it came in (i think all blu rays should come in these cases) overall a massive 5 stars from me
