Casablanca: easy to enter, but much harder to leave, especially if your name is on the Nazis' most-wanted list. Atop that list is Czech Resistance leader Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid), whose only hope is Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), a cynical American who sticks his neck out for no one... especially Victor's wife Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman), the ex-lover who broke his heart.
So when Ilsa offers herself in exchange for Laszlo's safe transport out of the country, the bitter Rick must decide what's more important - his own happiness or the countless lives that hang in the balance. Winner of three Academy Awards including Best Picture, 'Casablanca' is 'America's most popular and beloved movie - and rightly so' The Motion Picture Guide.

This is not a review of the movie, but of the disc and the box of Casablanca - Steelbook Edition. The steelbook box is very elegant, befitting the movie, however, the real surprise is the disc itself. Compared to the latest Blu-ray edition offered in the US, the image on this disc is a little sharper, noticeably brighter, and it provides a little more information, especially at the top. The audio, however, is exactly as the one on the US version (there have been complaints about it). So, all in all, this disc was a very pleasant surprise.
a classic with all the elements and characters interwoven into a love story in the backdrop of world war 2.
