Following the French atomic bomb tests in the South Pacific, an unknown creature is spotted passing westward through the Panama Canal. Scientist Niko Tatopolous is called in to investigate the matter, and he quickly arrives at the conclusion that a giant, irradiated lizard has been created by the explosions. Godzilla then makes its way north, landing at Manhattan to begin wreaking havoc in the big city. Even with the combined forces of the U.S. military to fight the monster, will it be enough to save the people of New York?

My 8 year old is a big fan of Emmerich`Godzilla, due to the animated series, and yeah, this movie is more for kids than for adults (Emmerich likes to portray his characters a tad stupid which can be annoying). We both dig steelbooks, so I ended up getting him this as a present. and boy, was he one happy camper when he opened the mail! :) The steelbook itself looks very nice (no em- or debossing though) and the price was ridiculous, so this was a no brainer! Shipping was fast and packaging was great, so, thanks Zavvi for the great service!
First Hollywood remake of Japan classic. Looks very sharp on Blu Ray. The only promblem for me is absence of any extras.
Very nice steel, would of liked the title on the front but the gloss finish on the eye is excellent. Great price for the steel. Film is average if you like monster movies then this is for you, great price and also mastered in 4k so picture looks great even on 1080p screen

OK the film is a bit of a turkey! But I remember watching this when I was younger and wanted to see it again. Especially with the new Godzilla reboot doing so well at the minute. This hasn't aged very well unfortunately and is no where near as good as I remembered. But the the Blu Ray PQ is awesome and the Steelbook itself is very nice! 3 out of 5 for the overall package.
