Awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, Human Planet is a majestic portrait of humankind and the power of nature in extraordinary symbiosis, struggle and strife. For the first time, the BBC Natural History Unit has turned the camera on ourselves. In doing so, we see how amazing human beings can be and how we adapt to any habitat, anywhere.
Human Planet is epic in ambition, extreme in content, intimate in effect. It explores how we have devised ways of surviving in every corner of Earth – from the remotest deserts to the busiest urban metropolis. Each episode focuses on an iconic environment and reveals how we have adapted to the challenges of the landscape and the endless diversity of animals and plants we live with. Discover how our remarkable intelligence, tool use, and close-knit social lives have enabled us to cope with just about anything nature can throw at us.

It is another quality documentary from BBC Earth team. Nothing more, nothing less, superb filming and amazing views are the biggest pros of this boxset. A minor setback for me is the fact that they are not going into details too much but this is kind of understandable because it would have to be 30 discs rather than 3.
The BBC has done it again. Human Planet is one of the most awesome documentaries ever made. It's absolutely stunning visually, and all the stories about people calling the most impossible places on our planet home, are just showing how adaptable and amazing human beings are. It's definitely worth watching!
Human Planet is so good. But I have to tell you it is in 1080i not 1080p, but you can forget that, as this is good. There is some random boob scene that I would not watch with the family, so pick the cold places, e.g. mountains and ice etc. if you are going to watch this with kids. Have to say, this is one of the best BBC documentaries I have watched in a long time.
If you treat human being as a supreme animal, you will see how evolved his creature really is. Not talking about western kind of civilization, but all kinds and ways of living. You will get some of the best possible and breathtaking scenes and I promise... you won't get dissapointed.
Another brilliant series from BBC. The content is captivating, the audio and visuals are absolutely stunning. It's a must-have (along with Planet Earth) for all Bluray owners. It's excellent value too. I don't particularly care about the lenticular case but at 8 episiodes x 50 mins + extras you're getting an awful lot of high quality content for relatively little money.
This documentary series by the BBC is outstanding. Shown on the BBC in HD, (BBC HD, like Sky HD, outputs at 1080i not the full 1080p) the quality is superb. The series deals with how humans have become the dominant lifeform on the planet and how we, as a species, learn to adapt to our environment and strive against adversity. Beautifully shot, excellently narrated by the wonderful John Hurt and always compelling viewing, I would highly recommend this series to any lovers of natural history documentaries. I'm looking forward to seeing this on blu ray, as the documentary looked superb on the BBC and the series can only look and sound even better on blu ray.
I have steadily watched these programmes on BBC 1 in High Definition. The landscape of the countries visited all captured in HD by the BBC cameras including the people and animals is breathtaking. When I heard that the series is coming out on Blu-Ray I the scoured the Internet and found this Zavvi website is cheaper to buy. I promptly purchased the set. Anyone who can watch the series in HD, is a must have.
