Prometheus is an excellent standalone sci-fi film. I thoroughly enjoyed this picture, and I have to say it's a treat on the Blu-ray format. The performances are good, as are the story and action. It's well worth a view, and is a lot better than some of the Alien sequels.

I saw this in the cinema when it came out and thought it was really good, its even better now that I've watched the extras on the Blu-ray, make sure you buy this!!
A really great film (albeit, I had to watch twice to think as much) and as much an independent movie as well as being part of the Alien quadrilogy.... The disk has loads of extras that make it worth purchasing, with a tempting alternate beginning AND ending...
Prometheus has great extra features with the Blu-ray and digital copy.
I thought the Blu ray version of Prometheus was great as it included deleted scenes which help explain the story a bit more clearly. These included an extended start sequence showing several space jockeys standing with the one that sacrifices himself. Also, the space jockey actually talks to David and his father when they wake him up in the spaceship. These scenes help to fill the story out and make it easier to follow. A great release!
I bought Prometheus as birthday present. It's an excellent gift and I'd recommend it to any fan of Sci-Fi!
I enjoyed the extras that go with the whole Prometheus experience, especially the directors commentary and the mobile app. The film seems to have been pushed out to the cinemas before it was really ready, and some of Ridley's comments enforce the idea that he really wasn't sure of the story right up until the end, as there was some serious amount of material hitting the floor and not being moved around. I'd say the best cut of this will be the one we never see, the one they set out to make but then realised the films slow pace was just crippling the overall enjoyment. That being said, I still enjoyed this film, flaws and all.
