In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years - and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it.
When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman), a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

Solid film. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Couldn't havr asked for a better looking RoboCop. Steelbook looks pretty hard too. Avid collector and this one is perfect. Thanks Zavvi!
Ok... Before I start I am not against remakes if there is a point. Can you do something again and make it just as relevant as before? will it be more impactful? Will it, in short, be better? If the answer is 'Yes' then do it. This can be evidenced by many films over the years (The Thing, The Fly, Scarface etc) however this is certainly not one of them. The original 1987 film is, to me, a masterpiece. I am not talking about the sequel (Transformers on acid), the god awful third film, the terrible TV series, The laughable kids cartoon from the 80's or the (admitedly) not that bad made for TV mini movies. The 1987 awesomness. It is a rare instance that you can take a relatively ridiculous concept and create something interesting and layered. It was a body shock film, it showed fear of technology and its implementation in our society, it poked fun at the Regan administration, it was a bleak cyber punk view of the future, it was satricial, there were elements of horror, existential questions of what makes an individual, it was a cyber western, ultra violent action film, it created an iconic looking science fiction character that is now cemented into pop culture history, there were religious themes in it (he dies, comes back to life and at one point in the film is walking ontop of water while the villian is knee deep in the stuff. Its subtle but honestly there) There are literally so many layers to the original film you can peel away and take so much from it, and not just the stuff I have mentioned. My point is this. Did this remake/reimagining/reboot/rewhatever give modern audiences the same experience? No. Not in the slightest. What you have with this film is a pretty generic flick with an exceptionally talented cast who are left with a very bland unoriginal script. It's not a badly made film, the actors aren't bad and there are no issues with it technically. However there is not one scene in this film that is iconic or air fist bumpingly good as the original film. In the end thats the whole point. It is not doing anything new, interesting or the end product finishes up as 'alright but thats about it' then there was no point in remaking the film in the first place. Please don't get me wrong. I am not being a raging fanboy and hating on this for the sake of hating, because of my love for the original source material. It's a valid point that sadly a lot of modern audiences fail to notice. If you just want to watch it? Wait for it to come on for free on the telly or Netflix. Don't buy it. Buy the original.
Good quality, well packaged, case in perfect condition
This is one of those movies most people have seen. This 80s sci-fi cop action offering is another film that should adorn any movie buff collection. The steelbook artwork is great in my opinion and the back of it is absolutely wonderful. I just had to have this especially at this price!
The steel case is really beautiful on this film. The film itself is ok. The original is much better in my opinion.
Good steelbook for the price, goes nicely with my original robocop steelbook.
Great looking steelbook. Nice artwork, definitely worth having in the collection.
A great looking steelbook blu-ray to add to my collection. Quick service very happy.
Love the artwork, the colours are great, and the whole steelbook is amazing and fits the movie perfectly!
