A Wonderful Add To My Collection!

Quite a few changes have been made, from the video game to the film. If you're looking for a film adaptation that closely follows the video game, this isn't the film for you. Regardless, I still think the film did a great job. In the video game, it was the father (Harry Mason) that went into Silent Hill, searching for his adopted daughter. In the film, it was the mother that did so. In the video game, the child's name was Cheryl. In the film, the child's name was Sharon. In the video game, Dahlia was a hateful mother towards Alessa and used her to birth this "God" deity that she believed in. In the film, Dahlia was a very loving mother towards Alessa, and had Alessa taken from her. There are quite significant differences, as you can see. But it's still a good film. But if you're comparing it to the video game, the film falls flat. Now if we're talking about the steel pack itself, I think it's a wonderful addition to my collection! The artwork is very wonderful. It looks stunning, compared to the basic DVD an Blu-Ray artwork of the film. It was definitely worth purchasing!

Excellent!

Quite simply put, if you've played the game, you'll understand the film. Sure, it changes the plot very slightly (making it less demonic than the game!) but its true to the video game series, using its original music and score. Plus, this Steel Pack (not Steel Book) edition is absolutely gorgeous, just what the film has always deserved. Only its out of stock at the moment so I got it on eBay (for twice the price) but I thought id post my review here anyway.

Silent Hill MetalPak

Those of us who have been collecting for a while will be well aware that MetalPaks are a bit different from Steelbooks. The size is about the same, and the real difference lies in the construction. Anyway, Silent Hill is a great film, well deserving of special packaging. Just a heads-up, if you are also looking to buy the (simply terrible) sequel, it is released in a standard Steelbook, as opposed to this MetalPak. The artwork on this is pretty awesome, and my only real qualm is the production company logo. It is marked as 20th Century Fox, whilst this is a Sony picture. I suppose Fox took over distribution for this special edition and ultimately it's not that big of a deal, I'm just a Sony purist. Overall, this is an awesome addition to any collection, both the film and the case.
