If you like Bond...James Bond, then you'll adore this beautifully restored Complete Bond Collection. Every film from Dr. No to Quantum of Solace is here even giving you a little space to put your Skyfall disc. It's a shame Skyfall isn't included, but then in three years time we'll be saying it's a shame the next Bond film hasn't been included. It's a vicious cycle. All films come loaded with extras to compliment the movie which is a real bonus. After watching fifteen Bond movies in a row, you might find yourself getting a little shaken and stirred, but each film is a real delight in it's own way. Except Moonraker - no one likes Moonraker.
I love all the Bond movies and this bluray collection has really enriched and enhanced the original quality of the first films. The quality of extras diminishes as the movies get more modern but there is an extra bonus disc full of behind the scenes info. There is a slot for Skyfall which can be purchased at a reasonable price to add to the set.
The Complete James Bond Collection is every James Bond film, recreated in perfect Blu-ray quality. The re-mastering of the earlier Bonds is especially excellent. Dr No looks as fresh as movies 30 or 40 years younger than it! It's presented in nice, special edition packaging to celebrate 50 years of Bond. It's an excellent purchase!
This is a significant improvement on the Ultimate James Bond DVD collection in terms of picture quality. Considering Dr No is 50yrs old you wouldn't imagine you could pull it into the realms of 1080p HD without artefacts or smoothing/blurring. I always thought the DVD's were amazing in terms of the digital restoration, but the BluRay is something else. The size of the box set has saved me substantially more space than was used with the DVD collection (which I had by buying each DVD one by one). It doesn't include Never Say Never Again which was never part of the official bond catalogue but was a Sean Connery Bond film. Skyfall isn't included in the box set HOWEVER, there IS a cardboard filler for SkyFall meaning when it's released, you can buy the BluRay (http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/skyfall-includes-dvd-and-digital-copy/10655927.html) and put the disc inside this 50yrs of Bond box set. That's my plan anyway! In summary: A fantastic box set at a fantastic price. I already had the DVD's as mentioned and feel that this BluRay set was worth every penny in replacement. Buy It!
Anyone who is a fan of JB needs to have this collection in their home. The best quality that Blu-Ray has to offer and superb sound with the right home cinema system will bring all the bond films to a level you have never experienced at home before. Truly a collectors edition celebrating 50 years of James Bond!
The Complete James Bond Collection is a fantastic box set for any Bond or movie fan in general. With 22 films in this set (23 when Skyfall comes out on Blu-Ray), there is much excitement to be had with some amazing transfers to some the early classics. The sound of the movies is equally impressive, that will provide a good workout for any home theatre system. Anyone who is interested with the extras will be glad to know there are a decent amount to keep you busy (although more new ones could have been added). If you are a Bond fan, then this set is a must-have. Despite not every film being perfect, these films can still be very fun and the classics (e.g. From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Goldeneye etc.) will be able to be experienced as they should be. So sit back, turn off the lights, grab some popcorn, and enjoy!
What can I say? The Complete James Bond Collection box set (or more specifically, what lies within) really does speak for itself. 50 years of Bond, 22 films, six lead actors, countless Bond girls, gadgets, explosions and eyebrow raises, and more classic one-liners than you could shake a Martini at. This really does have it all - well, except for the wonderful Skyfall (possibly the best Bond yet), but there's even a space in the box reserved for it for when it becomes available in 2013. The films look and sound amazing and the extras are fantastic too. Well, the ones are that I've watched so far. With an additional disc of never before seen footage and over 120 hours of bonus material in total. The only thing that doesn't come included in this stunning box set, is a week's holiday from work, to enable you to watch it all. Long live 007!
I have over 300 different movie titles on DVD and Blu Ray but nothing comes close to how good this box set is. We know the films and to see them all together at last is a recipe for losing weeks of your life watching these great films. Its got to be the best packaging, with all of the films in order and in what can only be described as a children's book like presentation with the layout and the thick cardboard pages. There are heaps of special features, however I was disappointed with the bonus disc. They are very short, each being only a few minutes long. The real bonus is what is on each disc with a 30 minute documentary on each film up to license to kill. After that there's even more content.
The complete James Bond collection on bluray is a steal. I am not going to review the films as everyone knows them to well & of course some are better than others. Picture quality & sound are a step up from DVD & if your a Bond fan you can not go wrong with this box set which as plenty of extras in the box. There is room in the box to add 1 more Bond film once it is released.
I have this on pre-order and cannot wait. I have Dr. No on Blu-ray and that is stunning on Blu-ray and they have all been remastered using the same codec. This is the collection to beat them all. Calling it the Complete James Bond collection is wrong though as sadly "Never Say Never Again" which starred Sean Connery is not in this collection, like all previous collections it was left out as EON Productions did not own the rights to this 007 movie. But it was a remake of Thunderball. The price is truly magnificent, this will sell out fast.
