Well worth a re-visit
I just about recall watching this film shortly after its release almost 20 years ago and never fully appreciated it. Having watched it again recently, I was amazed at how far ahead of its time it was. Bruce Wills plays a powerful and compelling role; the story line is fascinating and there is plenty of action to enjoy. If you'not seen this one in a while, I heartily recommend it.

Twelve Monkeys
I have seen this film Twelve Monkeys before, but decided to buy this Blue ray version because it was great value for money and I think this movie is great to watch, plus the bonus watching it on Blue ray show it in excellent detail. Bruce Willis acts well and does not go into Die hard mode for in fact I felt sad about his character and as for Brad Pitt acting the mad man was just sheer brilliance Madeleine Stowe acted quite well. if you have not seen this film then you have missed out on what I think should be classed as a cult movie and if you can get this limited edition steel book then you are in for a bonus and a treat.

Well worth a watch
I saw this film after its release when I was young and never fully understood it... Watched it again recently and it finally all made sense... A fantastic film, that is as modern as any movie of today. The story is intricate yet involving, the acting is top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and would heartily recommend it to any movie fan.

Twelve Monkeys - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-ray
Distopian time travel film with a Gilliam twist. A decade or so after his last association with Universal, Terry Gilliam makes his second mainstream Hollywood A-list feature. Not one of the personal titles in his canon as the screenplay was written by others and his signature touches were less pronounced due to GIlliam being a hired gun. That having been said, there is much to enjoy here, Terry's stylistic flourishes are still present and although the cast was (with the exception of Simon Jones) wholly American, he manages to glean some very European style performances. My rating would be 5 for the film alone, however, this Blu Ray presentation is let down by the extras. The film has a very good transfer with grain left as it should be, no horrendous DNR in evidence here, the audio is also punchy where appropriate. The Extras are pretty much identical to those found on the DVD, the let down here is that the Hamster factor is in SD and although the source material was hardly high def, why couldn't they have up-scaled it along the lines of the documentaries on the Bond and Hitchcock collections. The production archive is extensive but not very watchable due to the low res transfer. The steelbook artwork is very good, however the centre picture is a little one sided. Overall rating:4 stars - Film: 5 stars Extras: 3 stars Steelbook: 4 Stars
