Gru (Steve Carell) is your average guy, at least that’s what everyone else thinks. He has a secret that is known by very few; he’s a criminal mastermind! He hasn’t been in the news for a long time, since he stole the Times Square JumboTron. He wants to be in the news once again and be recognised for the genius he is, to do so he’s about to steal something big. Something very, very big; the Moon!
To steal the moon he comes up with an ingenious plan. With the use of a shrink ray, Gru is able to shrink the moon, but before he can do so, a cunning super nerd named Vector (Jason Segel) steals the shrink ray from him! Now he must battle Vector in order to become the super villain that he wants to be known as.
Gru adopts three young girls to help him with his plan in stealing the shrink ray back, but doesn’t count on the fact that he may soon become a father to the girls, and have a moral decision whether to live his dream, or become a good dad.

Great movie. Fun to watch with the whole family.
This is a very good film that the whole family can watch together. There's plenty in it for the kids and adults will enjoy the way relationships are teased out in the telling of the story. Despicabl Me is full of imaginative detail, for example in the gadgets invented in the story. It is fast-moving enough to keep your attention and the characters are interesting enough to enjoy even if you don't find it easy to identify them. Despicable Me is a film that you can enjoy at any time and children would enjoy seeing more than once.
A great film, which will entertain children and their parents. An interesting storyline which involves lots of laughs.
At first glance at the main character, you just didn't know what to expect with the movie. But we absolutely loved it. We saw it the first time around in regular view and the second (Yep had to see it a second time in the theatre!) we saw it in 3-D. It was great both ways. Clever, witty and sweet humor. I can't wait to get it on DVD. It's hard to impress my husband with animated movies, but he really loved it, also. You couldn't help but adore the characters. Very well made.

This film is fantastic, kids will love it as well as the big kids who watch it with them. The humour is spot on and well timed. A classic story of a villian who comes good in the end, Gru is the sweetest villain ever, 3 adorable little girls that we would all want to adopt and loads of minions give the film an overall heart warming feeling. Dont be dispicable and watch this film you wont be disapointed
I took my daughter to see this at the cinema. I didn't hear a peep out of her throughout the film so it must be good. Very funny and well written original story. Lots to enjoy for both children and big children! Also, the 3D effects were some of the best I've seen.
Its a good film, if you like comedy animation. It tugs at your heart strings but is also really funny so keeps you entertained and interested through out the film. If you haven't seen it already i recommend giving it a watch.
This film is brilliant. My children loved it. Its funny, charming and entertaining. The minions are just adorable and you will love them. Not just one for the kids adults will enjoy it too.
