Martin is not like other children. Neglected by his parents, he watches the extraordinary events that occur in and around the family home from a distance. Quiet and introverted, it is only the housemaid and occasionally his brother, Didier, who pay him any attention. His mother has locked herself away in her room, while grandmother assumes control of a household that is slowly falling apart.
