Well-meaning and optimistic, but naïve, clueless and spectacularly incompetent, Frank would find situations spiraling hilariously out of control. His long-suffering wife Betty can only stand by and watch as he is catapulted into "a bit of trouble" by the simplest task – a window cleaning job, a driving test, DIY or an RAF reunion. Michael Crawford was renowned for performing his own stunts in the series – some of the biggest and most dangerous in British comedy, including the holiday camp "bluecoat" human fireworks display, hanging from the exhaust of his Morris Minor as it teetered on a cliff edge and an unbelievable extended roller-skate.

If you remember this, you can't go wrong. Frank Spencer doesn't offer you a laugh a minute, it offers a laugh a second.
Although I have no idea how many series there are of Some Mothers Do Ave Em, there were, there are so few if any entertainers as skilled and talented turning a hapless fool into an art form as Michael Crawford lovable Frank Spencer. It is thought Frank Spencer is on a planet all of his very own, and with one disaster after another, it is impossible to believe that one man can be so unlucky, and into such sticky situations that are not of his making with his famous line Im a Married Man when anything too close to challenged his motives, but it is his poor wife, Betty, that almost encourages his ability to give the world another Fool, when he becomes embroiled in all sorts of difficulties we never thought possible. She is a great co-star. Together with a star cast of many famous faces and names, Some Mothers Do Ave Em is a world away from the shallow and pathetic excuse we call comedy today. This series is the stuff that entertainment is made of.
