In Afghanistan war correspondent Elsa Casanova (Diane Kruger - Inglorious Basterds) is taken hostage by the Taliban. Faced with her imminent execution, a Special Forces unit led by SGT Kovax (Djimon Hounsou - Blood Diamond) is dispatched to free her. When they storm the compound where Elsa is being held captive and rescue her, the Special Forces team must get her to safety. However when their initial extraction is compromised the soldiers and Elsa are forced to flee from the relentless pursuit of hostile Taliban soldiers. With no choice but to take a path through the mountains they must battle the elements as well as their deadly pursuers to get Elsa and the team to safety.
