Luigi's Mansion 2 is the long awaited sequel to the wonderfully fun and classic game Luigi's Mansion, which was released in 2001. This game makes full use of the incredible graphics that only Nintendo's innovative handheld, the 3DS, can deliver. Play through the spooky adventures of the often overshadowed Luigi, and ghost bust your way through as many mansions as possible to make the world a safer place.

Play as the ever curious Luigi, who has been sent by Professor E. Gadd via teleportation to investigate notoriously haunted mansions, with a mission to capture all the ghosts. You are armed with a flash light and your trusty super vacuum cleaner, the Poltergust 5000. Using these upgraded everyday objects, you must make your way through each mansion by clearing every room of every single ghost; by doing this, you will earn keys that give you entry to previously locked rooms, allowing you to progress ever deeper through the mansion.

In order to clear the room of ghosts, you must use your flash light to stun the spooks; this is done by first charging the flash light so it can unleash a super burst of light, a strobe, in order to daze and confuse them. When a ghost is stunned it becomes vulnerable as its hit points become exposed, and this is when you turn your Poltergust 5000 on them in order to wrestle the phantom in to submission by decreasing its hit points until it is weak enough to be captured. A new electric attack has also been introduced to Luigi's Mansion 2, which can be used should the ghost try to escape via an action command, which requires you to tap a certain button at just the right time in order to quell the spook.

Luigi's Mansion 2 has been completely overhauled and revitalised to make full use of the Nintendo 3DS' capabilities and technology. The gameplay and the environments through which you travel are visually brilliant, with incredibly detailed rooms right down to the furniture, wall decorations, and even the cobwebs. Luigi himself tip toes around as he explores, and gets a fright when a ghost decides to spring up and scare him, amply showing the attention to detail that has been put into this game. The technology available with this handheld device has been incorporated for an overall better gameplay experience, with the 3DS gyroscope meaning that when you tilt the 3DS, it lets you aim Luigi's flash light and vacuum cleaner. All of these aspects and more mean that Luigi's Mansion 2 was more than worth waiting for, as the 3DS brings to life all the details previous technology could not. Now get ghost hunting! A great game, well worth buying for any Super Mario Brothers fan. Luigi takes the role yet again as a ghost catcher and both the presentation and the gaming feel is excellent and really fun. The graphics look amazing, especially with 3D. The game is absolutely a must-have for any 3DS owner regardless if you like Luigi or not. Catching ghosts has never been this fun. I love that the game has such a good online mode as well. The game really is one my of my all-time favorites really! Well worth buying! Both grownup gamers and younger alike will enjoy it very much!

Ordered Luigi's Mansion 2 3Dfor my 13 year old daughter, had to wait a few days for it to come back into stock but it must have been worth the wait as I haven't heard a peep out of her since it arrived almost two weeks ago! Occasional shrieks of laughter come out of her room, but other than that there's no sign of her, so all I can assume is it must be really good as I haven't seen her this absorbed for quite some time.

One of the best 3DS games out

I haven't played the prequel, but when I saw Luigi's Mansion 2 3D on Nintendo Direct, it instantly grabbed my attention. This is an interesting adventure game, with lots of humour and without gore. The puzzles are well adjusted, not too easy, but not too hard. Though you wish to find all the secrets, you will spend a few extra hours locating them. Despite its flaws (some minor control issues), this game instantly became one of my favourites.

Luigi's Mansion 2 3D is utterly charming and subversively clever in that classic Nintendo way. This is one of the best games on the 3DS.
