Well it seems something strange has happened to the Sonic universe in Sonic: Lost World, Mario has taken a vacation in space and Sonic has been thrown into the mix. What is interesting is that this game offers various different play styles from the classic side scrolling to the frantic tunnel runs to the sphere like exploration. Each course has been designed with various paths through the level, the most obvious might not necessarily be the quickest or the easiest but is the most obvious and as you develop an understanding for the various abilities and the level structures you can master them with amazing speed runs that catapult you skywards. When playing the game you occasionally come across whips, which we were introduced to in Sonic Colours on the Wii. These are activated using the control pad as you swish various shapes on the game pad screen, they break up some of the game play and unlike Colours, just feels like they have been thrown into the mix for some strange reason. Like most recent Sonic games, a selection of multi-player elements have been added including some item swapping for Miiverse folk, but it's all about the racing as players compete against each other as they dash to success. Overall, it's a great sonic game let down slightly with some strange inclusions that don't add to the game play.

For the last few years I can safely say after sonic episode 2 the rest were bad. This new sonic has changed that. Its got new game layouts from games like Mario galaxy and if the best 3D sonic game I have played.
