Disappointing "Limited" Edition

Sleeping Dogs: Limited Edition has nothing making it worthy compared with the basic edition. Nonetheless, it's still a good game, but I recommend just buying the standard edition which is just as good.

Good - but short :)

Pretty good game, a nice addition to the sandbox crime games genre. Overall you mostly need to use martial arts and can carry only one weapon at a time (which you usually only use for that specific mission). Is a nice change from the usual games in this genre, where you end up with a enough guns to build a private militia... The game was a little too short for me (took me only ~16 hours to finish and I have about 80% complete achievements), so that's the reason for the 4/5 stars...

Sleeping Dogs: Limited Edition

Sleeping Dogs is an excellent open world game! Like GTA except set in Hong Kong.

Game of the year contender.

Sleeping Dogs is an "open world" or "sandbox" game, in the vein of Grand Theft Auto. It's no mere clone though. Far from it. The first thing that sets it apart is the setting. Here you won't be visiting the same old american cities you've seen in almost every movie and game out there. A fantastic recreation of Hong Kong awaits as you take the role of undercover cop Wei Shen and infiltrate the brutal world of organized crime. The story is great and you will meet dozens of unique characters during a journey that will take at least 20 hours to complete. As usual there's a ton of side missions and even races and other things to keep you entertained long after you've seen the credits. Both the sound design and the graphics are excellent, though not perfect which is to be expected in a game of this nature. Unlike many other games the PC version of Sleeping Dogs allows you to customise the graphics significantly, so you can squeeze every drop of eye candy out of your expensive rig. A high resolution texture pack is available for download and it's free. To sum it up, Sleeping Dogs will be remembered as one of the stand out titles of 2012. Time to jump on board and witness the birth of a fantastic franchise.

Very much Awake Dogs

Seleeping Dogs is an excellent open world game that reminds you just how good the genre can be. Thank God Square Enix saved the project! You play an undercover cop in a GTA style open city with two major stylistic differences: you are an undercover cop not a psychopath, you are rewarded for upholding the law whilst you go about your violent business. This is done through an engaging story and gameplay mechanics - importantly you never feel hampered by it like you may have in LA Noire. The open city is loosely based on Hong Kong and all it's cinematic history (and a few actors) have come along for the ride. I had a great time with it and I'm starting a second playthrough. Music is top notch and so is the action, though the story is linear, it is entertaining.

Brilliant

Sleeping Dogs is one amazing game. The visuals are gorgeous and the combat is solid. The cars handle really well as do the bikes. If they couldn't be handled a lot of missions would be very frustrating. The story is fantastic, twisting and turning every moment, I just wish it was longer. The story is about 20 hours of solid play. If you throw in all the collectibles and side missions in there you're looking at a solid 40+ hours to do everything. The characters are really well thought out which is always nice. They have got good strong back stories to really flesh them out. Hong Kong itself is a nicely though out world with people fishing, going on dates, shopping etc. You won't feel like the streets are empty. I would definitely recommend this game if you like Mafia, Saints Row and GTA. Mix them all together and Sleeping Dogs is the outcome.
