In the past I have greatly enjoyed the experience of playing open world games but this is my first time with The Rockstar Game developers. After some heavy thought I decided to buy the game and could not stop playing ever since! Just imagine a Assassins Creed 2 gameplay in a western style theme while playing as John Marston who is a outlaw in the west. The game has nice graphics and fun gameplay as you ride horses and shot people in point blank range. This is a great game which has really held my intrest and I hope that it wins game of year as is should due to its fast pace and fun gameplay style.
I usually try to stick to online games, but having enjoyed some of Rockstar's previous ventures I decided to buy this one; it was a great decision. The graphics are impressive, the AI has seemingly improved from GTA IV, and the storyline is gripping and freeflowing. The ability to choose what speed you want to progress at contributes massively to the feeling of freedom within the game, as you can do a plethora of things at any one time; complete tasks for strangers, complete challenges, progress through the storyline or even just go hunting or play poker. If you enjoy single player games, then this is a must buy, and even if you don't, then you can still do pretty much everything you can do in single player online with your friends. Fantastic.
This is quite simply the best game I have ever ever played. If you thought the GTA games were amazing then you won't believe your eyes and ears when you play this. The amount of main and side missions is simply outstanding. Never before has a game made you feel so much a part of it even after you stopped playing it. GTA was ground breaking, Well Red Dead Redemption is earth shattering.
Red Dead Redemption is one of those rare gems that comes around every so often and really takes your breath away. The context of the open world brings back memories of Fallout 3, rather than the obvious comparison with GTA. The game is chocked full of stark, yet beautiful, scenery, excellent random encounters, and great side missions and has a compelling storyline to boot. While the story is good, personally, I am quite happy to just spend my time hunting animals and collecting flowers whilst basking in the fantastic scenery. If you are a fan of open world games with a non-linear path, you owe yourself to get this game.
If you're even interested in this game you will be a big fan of massive open world games, Grand Theft Auto, Just Cause 2, Fallout 3. And yet of all of these I would say Red Dead Redemption is the most polished. The graphics are superb, storyline and voice overs excellent, and the one thing that I find captures my excitement for this game the most is riding my horse cross country to all of a sudden be in the middle of a heist, or going for a hunt with my friends on the multiplayer mode. This maybe the thing ive spent most my time with!
I was REALLY looking forward tot his game. I got it at Midnight, went home and played it. And unfortunately, although the game could be a masterpiece. It's so full of bugs and glitches it's unreal. People, horses and just things disappearing, when you're out in the wilderness, and spin the camera to look around, or chase an animal or enemy, it becomes so blurry that you literally can't make anything out. I'm afraid I'm going to have to trade this in for UFC.
