Resident Evil 6 is the heavily anticipated addition to the legendary survival horror series, bringing back your favourite characters and the best in spine tingling suspense and action. This game revels in a global horror experience combined with chilling, adrenaline fuelled gameplay, combat, and atmosphere. Not to mention, as always, a rich and heavily textured storyline that truly draws you into the game. Welcome to Resident Evil 6.
The game is set ten years after the Raccoon City incident, and there are both new and familiar faces returning to the fray. You will have the ability to play as more than one protagonist, and each of these playable characters come with their own unique storyline, companion, motivation, and perspective on the events occurring.
One such hero is Leon S. Kennedy. You will find yourself in Washington, D.C. with the President of the United States, who is planning on revealing the truth behind the events of Raccoon City in the hopes of preventing future bioterrorist activity. However, a bioterrorist attack is launched at your location, mutating the President and setting in motion another battle for Leon's survival. Meanwhile, another hero has just touched down in China, which is also under threat of another bioterrorist attack. This hero is Chris Redfield, a Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member trying to regain control of the outbreaks wherever he can. These storylines will eventually overlap, leading to a greater plot and conclusion.
The gameplay within Resident Evil 6 is action oriented, although returns to favouring the survival horror aspect that made the series so legendary to begin with. The signature over the shoulder style camera has been incorporated once more, which gives more dynamic views of the revamped close quarters combat moves, as well as the ability to wield dual pistols. These combat improvements and introductions add to the adrenaline fuelled experience that is fighting for your life against hordes of zombies, and to the exhilerating experience that is playing Resident Evil 6. If you liked Resident Evil 4 and 5, buy Resident Evil 6: Steelbook without thinking about it, as you will like that too. The game play is full of new possibilities thanks to the dodge system, the melee combat has been improved and the movement in general is much more responsive. The game features four different campaigns that assure 25+ hours of story mode (with five difficulty options), plus mercenaries mode and agent hunt. This game is varied, really long and a lot of fun.
Resident Evil 6: Steelbook is excellent.
Very long game with great game play. A must own for resident evil fans.
Resident Evil 6: Steelbook is a very long game. I recommend it.
Not as good as the original formula of Resident Evil games, but it's still good and worth buying at this great price!
Resident Evil was known as survival horror. RE6 has lost that magic. It isn't a bad game for a new comer trying out this game, but for an old RE fan you will be disappointed.
Hi everyone The product was in great condition, the package sealed and everything was delivered according to zavvi previsions. I buy from zavvi, because of the customer service, price and the constant battle to continue in the national and international market, always with new ideas, improving the services, products and delivery methods. The game is very good, according to my valuation, because i understand what the producers tried to do when they launch this game, but most people were hoping for more than what the game provides, but this game has more of a commercial vision than a history and game improvement, to give the producers more angle to do alot of more Resident Evil game series. I can only say good things about zavvi and i hope to continue shopping with zavvi for many years.
Resident Evil 6! What can I say... a must have game for the Resi fans out there! Amazing graphics, awesome game!
This new RE game has evolved in terms of game play, in comparison to its predecessors RE5 and 4. But it still doesn't quite get to be the game it was supposed to, the one that would bring back RE to the gold era as it used to be. But lets get started with visuals, it looks great, the character´s movements are fluid and smooth on the campaing, but when you go to the mercenaries, it is pretty different, it has low quality graphics, you´ll see the difference in the characters, they are not so defined as they are in the campaing. The scenaries are well designed and look great and the cinematics are at the same level. Now, the game play, the movements are great, the addition for moving and shooting works great, as mentioned above, the animations are really smooth and you can change the point of view from right to left smoothly to improve your view. The zombie´s movements are great and look amazing in some cases, even though I´ve found some bugs about their attacks, like when they jump at you, even though you know they will not get you due to the distance, for some reason, you´ll get the animation to fight the zombie to get it off you, this is something that may be sometimes frustrating, mostly when you´re trying to scape, but overall it is great. Regarding the four campaings, the stories they told for each couple of characters in case of the first 3 campains, are well told, and how they cross over each other is perfectly done, it gives you an idea on what the other characters are up to at that point, until you get to play the next campaining and see the scene from the other side, which is nice. For Ada´s campaing, which until December will be locked until you beat the first 3 campaings, I´ve found it the best of them, her play style is great, her movements are awesome and her story will give you the answers missing from the previous ones and more. So, to recap, RE6 is visually good, could have been better, the game play was tweaked and got a little better and for the stories, some are told better than others, but overall are great once you get to the end. I highly recommend this game to any RE fan, it is also really fun to play coop with a friend.
Great game, and it looks even better in the steel-book!
I like all the Resident Evil games and this one is in my top 3 out of them all. It has good playability and has lots of different stories to keep you coming back again and again. 5 stars.
Resident Evil 6: Steelbook is a fantastic game with simple controls and stunning graphics. I'm a big fan of the Resident Evil franchise.
Now you may be hoping that this will be a return to the classic RE of old, creeping down corridors with about four bullets. Well that's not the case. You will frequently run out of ammo but make no mistake, this is new Resident Evil. This game is made to entertain and it succeeds brilliantly. Leon's campaign is obviously the best giving you a very creepy atmosphere and awesome graphics. This comes highly recommended from me, a die hard Resident Evil fan from the beginning, as this game is thoroughly entertaining and will keep you hooked through all four campaigns.
Resident Evil 6 is a great entry into the series of Resident Evil. Way above my expectations. Although the gameplay is somewhat similar to Resident Evil 5 it's a lot more advanced and intense. Although it's not scary and has gone away from the roots of RE too much, I recommend this game as it is it truly brilliant. The gameplay and storyline are great. There are 3 story lines, with a 4th unlocked after completing the first 3. They all connect to each other in different ways. Hours of gameplay for each story. All around great game. What are you waiting for, buy it!
