Operation Explosion

After seeing some of the gameplay videos and getting a hint of the general story of the Just Cause series, I wasnt hesitant to pick up a copy of this game, and ended up buying one of the only available copies I could find, on the other side of the planet, thanks very much to, THE INTERNET! So I got a good deal, an ever better deal than trying to find any other day 1 editions currently here in NZ, and the cost of shipping didnt cost me any limbs, and also the record time they sent it to me, but I dont think thats what you were here to read about for the recommendations for this game. Just Cause 3 follows the story of Rico Rodriguez sent to liberate yet another country. Set up as an open sandbox third person shooter, this was the game I wanted GTA to be many years ago. With cars, tanks, helicopters, and scooters to 'Liberate', with an extensive choice of rocket launchers, machine guns, and unlimted bombs at your disposal, these are finding a second place to an arm mounted grapple hook, a kitesuit, and a parachute to stop you from splattering all over the ground. Im sure some may argue about this, but when I learnt the feature of attaching 2 things together with the grapple hook, and pulling them together, I found a lot more amusement, of dragging enemies into cars, pulling tanks off cliffs, and landing helicopters sideways into buildings, or head first into the ground. I should also talk about the explosions, it seems that Rico's idea of 'Liberating' the country, means pretty much blowing up everything in it. To liberate a town, you have to blow up certain objectives, even more if its a military base, and inbetween towns or bases, I grew the habit of having a car chase tailed by mad men with machine guns, leaving behind a trail of destruction and smoldering car wrecks. Thats not to say that this game is entirely easy, for starters, I had a few issues with the controls, as it is a third person shooter, it was tricky to get the crosshair right on the enemy, so larger guns like the rocket launcher got my personal seal of approval, but this get easier to learn when you fly around with a grapple hook. also, you may want to look up online on how to swim, since it depends on what way the joystick moves, and the camera is angled, and dying is not recommended, since it goes to a loading screen which could be spent on better things like more car chases and explosions. So Just Cause 3 isnt flawless, but some controls take a little bit of practice, but the island of Medici has now become my home away from home, a fantasy land of car chases, explosions, and extreme stunts, also after you 'Liberate' an area, you access other challanges to add more items to your armory, or set up cars and guns to be dropped off to you easier than dial-a-pizza. Has my recommendation 5/5
