Smokey and the bandit

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Smokey and the Bandit is a very good film, and a very good Blu-ray. This Blu-ray has Latin dubbing. It's highly recommended.

Nostalgia trip

For those of us old enough to remember going to the pictures in 1977, Smokey and the Bandit is the film that came second to Star Wars that year, in terms of box office. Burt Reynolds, at that time, was the biggest movie star in the world and this is one of his finest moments. However, it's Jackie Gleason as Sheriff Buford T. Justice who steals the show. The sequel had more laughs, as well as Dom DeLuise and an elephant, but this is the best of the three films. The third is best forgotten.
