Star Trek: The Animated Series. The Animated Adventures of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek now on Blu-ray
22 episode first season of the animated version of Gene Roddenberry's seminal sci-fi series. In 1973, at the peak of the original series' success, Roddenberry made an animated version of Star Trek featuring the voices of nearly all of the original cast members. Here, the entire series is re-mastered with updated audio quality.
Creator Gene Roddenberry's animated version of Star Trek features the voices of nearly the entire cast of the original live-action series, including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, George Takei, James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols and Majel Barrett, as well as many of the original series writers, and guest stars. It was executive produced by Gene Roddenberry, and produced by D.C. Fontana, who has been with Star Trek from it's very beginnings. Being animated, the series could boldly go where the original series could not, it was able to show more exotic aliens, spaceships, and planetscapes. It broke new ground, won an Emmy award, and it left a lasting impression on the Star Trek universe.

Brilliant!
This series is a brilliant continuation of the original series - but without the limitations of live action! I've only recently become a Star Trek fan, and this series has been a treasure!

Essential Star Trek!
If you’re a Star Trek fan then it’s essential that you view this. Purchase it to add to that collection you own because after the original series this is what occurred after the third season. Much love was put into this on a shoestring budget by the production team plus the original actors themselves. A wonderful piece of animation of the era but with all the feeling of the adventures in the series that saw Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty and co traverse the universe... Marvellous!

Awesome love this series
This is an often forgotten Star Trek series from the seventies, it overcome the financial limitations of the 60s live action series and provided a stop gap between the original series and the next generation . I have fond childhood memories of this and am glad to own it on blu ray
